MGM Grand (book) is one of our favorite hotels on the Vegas strip. It may not have a perfect, central location it has so many things that make it great for a wide variety of Vegas trips. It’s one of the world’s largest hotels, so there are plenty of room types to choose from; whether you’re looking to stay on a budget or absolutely ball out, MGM Grand can accommodate.
The MGM Grand casino is large & offers a relatively large smoke-free section that’s incredibly active on weekends. It provides all the games you want, has an excellent poker room, & something for everyone.
Who Should Book MGM Grand?
Our favorite part of MGM Grand is it’s wide variety of groups it can support. While it’s not typically my first choice for a romantic weekend in Vegas (Wynn, Cosmo, Aria, or Vdara are our go-to hotels for that), it’s always on the short-list for groups, guys weekends, sports & events, bachelor & bachelorette parties, ragers, or summer getaways.
MGM Grand has top-notch entertainment, an amazing selection of food in every budget, & is one of the top party hotels on the strip.
Our Favorite Part of MGM Grand: Size and Amenities
MGM Grand is one of the largest hotels in the world, offering a vast array of amenities and entertainment options all under one roof. It features a massive casino floor, numerous restaurants and bars, a variety of retail shops, a spa and fitness center, and multiple pools. You’ll find everything you need for a convenient and enjoyable stay without having to leave the property.
We love the MGM Grand pool complex that bumps up to one of the best dayclubs on the strip in the Wet Republic Ultra Pool. It has budget rooms & SKYLOFTS, one of the most insane suites on the strip. If you’re group has different budget needs, MGM Grand can accommodate as well as any hotel on the strip.
MGM Grand Entertainment and Shows
MGM Grand is home to several world-class entertainment venues, including the MGM Grand Garden Arena and the KA Theatre. These venues host a wide range of concerts, sporting events, and shows, including the famous Cirque du Soleil production “KA.” You can expect top-notch entertainment options during your stay.
MGM Grand Nightlife
The hotel offers a vibrant nightlife scene, with popular nightclubs such as Hakkasan and Wet Republic. These venues attract renowned DJs and offer an energetic atmosphere. MGM Grand offers some of the top restaurants on the strip from some of the most famous chefs in the world. From the over-the-top Joël Robuchon to Iron Chef Morimoto to an affordable food court, MGM Grand has restaurants for every taste & budget.
We always find that events like bachelorette parties or guys trips can bring a wide variety of people who need to do Vegas on different budgets. MGM Grand offers everyone options!

MGM Grand Location
MGM Grand provides easy access to many of the city’s attractions. While not exactly centered, it still close enough to much of the central & south strip. You’ll be within walking distance or a short drive from other renowned hotels, casinos, shopping centers, and iconic landmarks. The central location allows you to explore the vibrant energy of the Strip conveniently.
If you’re going to a Raiders game or any event at Allegiant Stadium, it’s a great location. Same to be said for events at T-Mobile Arena like concerts or Golden Knights games. Plus, MGM Grand hosts many events including fights, concerts, games, & more.
Signature Experiences at MGM Grand
MGM Grand offers unique experiences, such as the CSI: The Experience exhibit, where you can step into the shoes of a crime scene investigator, and the Topgolf Las Vegas, a golf entertainment complex with a high-tech driving range, food, and drinks.
